New Search:

The New Search tab is where you can enter your query / any relevant search phrase (such as “get the list of newly generated leads this week”) and retrieve search results pertaining to data within your Salesforce org.  Enter your query (search phrase) in the search bar and hit enter. For Instance: “get all contacts”

1. Enter your query (search phrase) in the search bar and hit enter. For Instance: “get all contacts”.

2. The search results will be available in the console-type window below the search bar in a conversational style. The generated records data is displayed in tabular format.

3. For every new search, there is a limit set to display a maximum of 1000 records for every query. Each page shows 100 records. You can click the arrows (< >) to navigate through the pages as well as input the page number to directly view the records on that page.

Note: If the number of records in data exceeds the maximum limit, the user needs to export the entire result, either by downloading the file as CSV or sharing the results via email to a user. Click “Export” button and choose the relevant option.

Search History:

The Search History tab is where you can view a comprehensive history of your previous search phrases. This tab includes a table that provides a quick synopsis of each search. Here’s how to use it:

1. Click on the Search History tab to view the history of your search phrases displayed in a table.

2. The table includes the search phrase and name of the user who performed the search along with the date and time the search was performed, all in one place for a quick look.

3. Clicking on any of the searched phrases will perform a new search and fetch the updated data in real time, just like in the new search tab.

Note: The maximum number of history records that can be viewed depends upon your subscription plan. Every search phrase will be unique i.e. not any of the repetitive search phrases will be displayed. The number of records to be displayed is limited to 1,000 records per search, the reason being to avoid the governor limits as well as to reduce the data consumption in your Salesforce instance.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

How to get free subscription of Lazy Admin?

Once you have installed the package in your salesforce instance from AppExchange, your free subscription plan is automatically activated. You get 10 free searches per month and 10 searched history records.

What types of searches can I perform with Lazy Admin?

Lazy Admin supports a wide range of searches within your Salesforce org. Users can search data from standard and custom objects as well as joint data from multiple objects. You can search for data related to leads, contacts, accounts, opportunities, and more.

Here are few examples:

• Get the list of contacts updated last week

• Get the reports created by Matt Schmitt.

• List of open cases with high priority.

• Find opportunities with probability < 60%.

How can I search data from custom objects or custom fields?

Lazy Admin is designed to work with both standard and custom Salesforce objects. It is smart enough to identify your custom object(s) or field(s) by its singular label, plural label or API name in the phrase.

Here are some examples:
• Get the list of opportunities in which the value of Delivery Installation  = Completed

• Get case id, number, owner and status for product__c GC5020

• The case object has a custom field Potential Liability. Retrieve the case number, status, and the custom field in which its value is not empty.

• Get data of all standard and custom fields <field_label or api_name, more fields …> from custom object <custom object label or API name> for the user name <user name>

• I have a custom object <custom object label or API name>. Can you fetch list of its standard and custom fields from schema?

Learn more about scenarios involving custom objects and fields in this blog.

Can I fetch relational/linked object's data using human language?

Yes, you can fetch relational data. Lazy Admin supports both, child to parent and parent to child relational fields.

For example:
• Get the list of opportunities with their account name and industry.

• List of contacts and their cases with subject.

• list of contacts and their account type along with their cases

Can it remember the context between search phrases, similar to a conversation?

No, it doesn't.

Since it is a technical solution rather than conversational, every search phrase is treated as a separate data fetch request, to keep it precise.

However, you can mark your frequent searches as "Favourite" for convenience.

Can I export or share my search results with other users in my org?

Yes, you can export search results to a CSV file and share it with other users.
